Keynote: The 3D Consumer Experience - Platforms Evolution

3D Theatre

Stereo 3D has recaptured the interest of cinema buffs. Thanks to the advent of digital capture and projection refinements, the quality of the viewing experience has been drastically improved. Stereo 3D is ready to enter consumers lives through TV and mobile devices. However, while content distribution is progressing well, content availability is largely bottlenecked. The question is, has technology performed its duty or should we expect more?

Conversion has become an integral part of the toolset film makers use for special effects, for dealing with difficult scenes, or as full production decisions. Converting the extensive international 2D library could be a golden opportunity. What is the business case behind conversion? Could poor quality images stifle the market? What are the monetization possibilities for this “new” content?
